Description
xThe practice of paying "Lobola" (or Lobolo) as part of the marriage process is a tradition in many South African cultures including Xhosa, Zula, Swazi and Ndebele. Lobola is essentially the "bride price" that the prospective groom must pay to the bride's family in order to enter into marriage. For centuries cattle has formed the primary currency of Lobola but more recently, cash and Mink blankets plays a significant role. However, often, even the cash amount is tendered by way of establishing the price of a cow and how many cows would have been given.
Other gifts are also formally requested and agreed to during the negotiations and blankets very often are in high demand.
Interestingly, historically the Lobola negotiations are attended not by the bride and groom, but by their families, and most often, by the men in the family. Besides simply coming to a financial agreement, this ritual is said to form a bond between the two families. During the negotiations families who otherwise may not have met, come together to meet and spend time with each other.
The VIP Lobola Bundle has 20 blankets and is only available in Mink Bella Plain Assorted Colours - Double bed size 200 x 230cm.

Delivery is FREE in South Africa for all orders of R850 or more. Orders less than R850 will have a standard R150 delivery fee anywhere in South Africa. Dispatch Time Orders received Monday to Friday before 12pm will be processed the same day. Order received from after 12pm on Friday to Sunday will be processed for dispatch on the following Monday. Delivery Time If you live in Gauteng or a major city such as Durban, Bloemfontein, Nelspruit etc, your order should be delivered between 2-4 working days If you live in a major city in the Eastern or Western Cape, your order should be delivered between 3-5 working days If you live in an outlying area, your order can take from 4-6 working days or a week to be delivered. Please note: There are no deliveries on weekends and public holidays. Please note: Aranda Textile Mills will not be held responsible, if for reasons outside of our control, when a delivery is delayed.
Refund Policy
Refunds and Returns Prior authorization must be obtained before returning any goods. No unauthorized returns will be accepted. Only flawed products will be authorized for refunds. Shipping charges and special orders, are non-refundable. Items accepted must be returned in original packaging and undamaged. All postage and handling on return orders shall be at the expense of the customer. A 20% restocking and administration fee will be applied to authorized returns. No refunds or exchanges will be given after 5 days of receipt of goods.
